Have you ever just seen a stamp set and thought I just have to have it? That’s exactly how I felt when I saw the Stellar Birthday stamp set in the new catalogue
When I was a little girl I had an astronaut cabbage patch doll- I loved her so much and this stamp set just reminded me of her!
The card below is inspired by the card on page 57 in the latest Stampin’ Up! Catalogue with a few differences. Did you know that case-ing (copy and share everything) is not only allowed but encouraged! It’s a great way to experiment with a stamp set.
For this card I’ve created the background of the front of the card using the blending brushes and pacific point, night of navy and blackberry bliss inks.
I’ve embossed the small stars in silver and fussy cut around the astronauts.
I’ve used the Give it a Whirl dies to create the spinning wheel and a bread secures it all together.
The front is attached to a night of navy card.
I’ve added small stars cut from silver card and a stripe of the silver to accent the sentiment.
Here’s another card, I’ve cased. Only instead of a 3x3 card I’ve used a standard note card and I’ve added an astronaut because they are just so cute!
I’ve used pacific point ink stamped directly onto a pool party card.
Added a strip of pacific point card and the sentiment is stamped on old olive card in the same ink.
For these final two cards I’ve used another new stamp set from the catalogue- this ones called “To the Moon” and features a beautiful full moon and a series of moon and star related sentiments. I love this sentiment it takes me back to reading Sam McBratneys “Guess how much I love you” to my nieces when they were young. Tomorrow is Mother’s Day in Australia and I’m thinking that one of these will be perfect for my mum.
Using a night of navy card, I’ve stamped a selection of stars from the to the moon stamp set in night of navy ink then added a moon. For the moons I’ve used the new pale papaya and pool party inks.
The card the sentiment is on is cut from stitched rectangle dies. And again the little astronauts were fussy cut before being added.
