Hang an Ornament Cards

Here is a series of cards I created for the Global Design Project Challenge to use Gorgeous Grape, Lemon Lime Twist and Basic Black.

While I know these colours are more Halloween colours, I decided to turn them into some non-traditional Christmas cards.

The stamps and dies I have used for these cards are from the Hang an Ornament bundle. The stamp set features two different designs for the ornaments and some sentiments, while the dies include the bauble, stripe, cap and hook.

I had a great time exploring some heat embossing techniques for these cards.

First the Image was stamped onto the base colour in versa mark ink. This was heat embossed with clear embossing powder, then I used the blending brushes to add a second colour over the top. The exception being the baubles where the decoration is in black where I have used Black embossing ink on those ones.

 

For the Lemon Lime Twist and Gorgeous Grape cards, I have also used the blending brushes to add tone on tone ink for extra depth of colour.

 

I also used the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder to give the mat layer some texture.
