Spring has sprung here in the Southern Hemisphere. Days are getting longer and slightly warmer and I am starting to think about Summer.
One of my favourite summer treats as a child was an ice cream cone. We used to wait patiently for the ice cream van to come into our street and run across the road in bare feet, dodging bindis and soft tar. You could not beat an ice cream in a cone on a hot day, trying to lick to drips so that you didn't have them running down your arms (and because who want's to waste their ice cream?).
This stamp and die bundle brings back those precious childhood memories and I really enjoyed experimenting with different ways to colour the ice cream to reflect different flavours.
I've paired the die cut images with papers from the Lighter than Air DSP packs. I coloured the images using Stampin' Blends and realised that I could use the Colour lifter pen to create additional depth to my images.
The first five images are my first few attempts. The colours are fairly flat and not a lot of depth to them.
However, as I continued to play, I became more confident in what I was doing and my images began to show more depth.
All up, I am really happy with how these turned out. A lovely afternoon spent trying something new and a set of gorgeous cards to show for it.
You can find all the supplies I used to make these cards on my online store here or you can shop directly from the link below which will also take you to my online store.
I hope you enjoyed looking at these cards, please leave me a comment and let me know which card you like the best. You might also want to tell me what your favourite flavour ice cream is.
Until next time,
Happy crafting.
